Just finished the presentation with Peter from Backsafe. In 33 years with Hanson I’ve never been a part of a more engaging & practical (training) presentation. Feedback from the drivers has also been very positive. Peter’ belief in, & the importance of, what he is teaching is immediately evident & underpins everything he says. I’ve now put a reminder in next year’s calendar to get him back, but would recommend his presentation be added to our training schedule.
Thanks for the training that you gave my staff yesterday. The feedback has been all positive, response from the guys is that it’s the best training they have ever had. Fully able to be understand with good examples, interaction, fun but serious way of getting the message across.
The Backsafe manual handling workshop was the best preventative training I have ever had. I felt like I was in my doctors office back in 2007 when I had a back operation. We have had 4 manual handling training sessions since I have been JVP here and they have all been finger pointing sessions, don’t do this/that….not the “why.
The terms “Microscopic tears” and “Back Safety Zone” really resonated with the guys. I have even heard the staff compliment each other on their lifting techniques. We had a follow up meeting this morning in our morning meeting and some stretching. We have committed to each other as a store to go over a topic from the manual every Friday morning. Great initiative.
I have received plenty of feedback along the lines of that it is the best training that they have experienced. I am looking forward to completing this training with the remainder of the workforce and will recommend this course to other sites.
The best training session I’ve ever attended. Not only how to lift and move on the job but what you are doing to your back, health and longevity if you don’t follow the rules. Opened my eyes to an alternative message delivery format – no PPT, a bit of white board, a skeleton and a lot of reality checks.

Just wanted to say how much the staff enjoyed and got out of the recent Backsafe training. We had our fortnightly OH&S meeting today and everyone commented on how the staff had implemented change within hours of doing the training. It’s also been really exciting to have an ongoing conversation after the course with staff still talking about it now. (usually its long forgotten as soon as it’s over) So, it’s safe to say that it made a massive impact on our staff.
